We favor deeper 2×6 wall construction because it allows significantly more insulation within the wall cavity. Paired with exterior foam insulation, this assembly reduces heat transfer, improves indoor comfort, and adds to the overall strength of the home.
Continuous Insulation & Heat Protection
Exterior foam insulation plays a critical role in blocking radiant heat from the sun. By wrapping the home in continuous insulation, we minimize thermal bridging and help hold indoor temperatures steady. The home stays cooler through peak summer heat and asks less of its mechanical systems.
